A practical FAT turns the quote into measurable acceptance criteria before the machine ships, reducing dispute risk and commissioning delays.
What the project must solve
A short demonstration at the fastest recipe does not establish sustained accepted output across the purchased SKU range.
Undefined run boundaries, sampling methods or retest rules allow the buyer and supplier to interpret the same test differently.
Passing the supplier-site FAT does not prove local utility capacity, line interfaces or operator readiness; these belong in the agreed SAT scope.
Buyer analysis
Write the protocol before machine completion
Product, materials, sample size, run duration, acceptance limits and retest rules should be agreed before travel or video testing.
Reconcile accepted output rather than filming the fastest moment
Define elapsed run time and whether normal refilling, micro-stops and operator interventions are inside the test boundary. Reconcile attempted packs with accepted, rejected and unclassified packs. Report accepted packs divided by elapsed test minutes, together with defect categories and stoppage records. Do not remove slow intervals from the evidence or substitute rated cycles for released output.
Test quality with an agreed measurement and sampling plan
Record fill results against the defined target and tolerance using the agreed measurement equipment. Define which seal, leak, code and package checks release a pack, when samples are drawn and what happens when a limit fails. Keep settings, lot identification and raw observations with the summary. No generic sample count or leak method is sufficient for every product; the buyer and supplier must agree the product-specific protocol.
Test recovery only through documented safe procedures
Have competent supplier personnel demonstrate approved no-product, no-package, reject and recovery behavior under a documented safe test plan. Review alarms, safe states and restart segregation without defeating guards or creating hazardous live faults. Where a challenge cannot safely be demonstrated, record the alternative verification and its limits rather than treating an omitted test as a pass.
Release a test dossier, not only a pass certificate
The dossier should identify the purchased configuration and revision, test SKU and material lots, protocol, run counters, sampling results, deviations and unresolved items. Assign actions and retest requirements before shipment approval. Carry site utilities, integration and local operator-readiness items into the SAT plan; successful supplier-site testing does not establish that every site condition is already met.

The rows below connect Factory Acceptance Test for Packaging Machines to published machine ranges and stated applications. Use them for shortlisting only; final output, accuracy and package quality require testing with the actual product, package material and line conditions.
Specification signals to confirm
RFQ checklist for this page
Identify the order configuration, software or recipe revision, test SKUs and commercial product and packaging lots.
Specify test boundaries, acceptance limits, sampling intervals and calibrated measurement equipment.
Agree safe supplier-led inspection and challenge procedures; never request defeated guards or unsafe live fault simulation.
Request raw counters, sample records, defect categories, settings and continuous run evidence alongside the summary.
Assign every unresolved item an owner, disposition and retest or SAT requirement before approving shipment.
From evidence to a machine decision
Capture the evidence that changes the decision
Identify the order configuration, software or recipe revision, test SKUs and commercial product and packaging lots. Specify test boundaries, acceptance limits, sampling intervals and calibrated measurement equipment.

Lock the acceptance test before price comparison
Set acceptance criteria for Factory Acceptance Test for Packaging Machines: usable output, accuracy, seal quality, reject logic, utilities, sample tests and documentation. Compare price only after suppliers accept the same test basis.
